Poor AlienBob -all the hard waork he does and you flame him for not re-doing according to your timetable. I have a huge collection of programs(over 600) that I have hacked, compiled and packaged for Slackware. But, keeping them up-to-date with every release of Slackware is a bit much. Actually, I use a software tool which makes it pretty easy to recompile stuff -even hundreds of progs with a single command. But, if there are version changes then some of the scripts have to be updated. It only takes a few minutes (or even seconds) to do so, but when you multiply that by hundreds of programs it becomes real days of work.
Can't you take the SlackBuild script that Eric provides and update it yourself to work with the new version?

Excuse me, but I would sure think that anyone capable of writing a tutorial would not only be able to deal with the no link on first post policy at LQ but would be able to understand why it was there.
How silly of me, eh?
