Hello, World of LQ!

Hi, I'm a long-time lurker, first-time subscriber to Linux Questions and I wanted to put my "sign" out as it were.

I've been involved with Linux, and Unix, for a long time (still have the Bell Tech Journal somewhere) but haven't gotten that deep into any one version or distro; whatever our systems (and customer systems) are running is what I'm working on, including a bit of exposure to Linux on IBM mainframes.

Lately that's included the Raspberry Pi and other small distributions.

Over the years, I have also worked with Fortune, Macintosh (since the Lisa), Windows, Ubuntu, SLES, and some now-obsolete (or moribund) DEC operating systems and have extensive -- but very "dusty" experience with IBM z-Class systems and of course MVS, SVS, and OS/MVT before that down to the sysprog level.

But enough with the CV; I'm glad to have found LQ and look forward to browsing, and querying, the forums. If there's anything I can help with, send me a message...

Thanks!
Donn (aka 'skyfan')
