Smile Gnome-Slacky 2.18.3

Hello! I'm the main maintainer of Gnome-Slacky, a Gnome 2.18.3 non intrusive build for Slackware 12.0. I registered to announce the new release of Gnome-Slacky 2.18.3!

Hello, welcome - and thanks for your work!

I always wondered why they've chosen just KDE for Slackware official releases, but anyway, thanks a lot for working on Gnome. My current personal installation of Slackware doesn't include neither of those mentioned, but if I was to install either one, it would probably be Gnome.

It's not so much "they" as "he", since Slackware is pretty much a one-man show (Pat V).

Anyway, according to what he wrote, compiling gnome was beginning to be such a pain (a couple of years ago) that he decided to drop it from the distribution. (There are more details to be found if you read the changelogs for Slackware 10.2 or 11.0, I forget which.)

Cheers.
Jim
