Glad to be here!
Hi, my name is Scott. I am a relatively recent convert to Linux--I can get around OK, but often run into stuff where I need help. I've been lurking here and on other similar sites for a while and thought I'd take the plunge and join.
Computer-wise, I have a dual boot Windows / Linux (currently Haze) desktop with dual monitors, an Acer Iconia netbook and Acer Asipre Laptop, both running Peppermint 5, and a Mac Mini running Mountain Lion.
Personally, I am 50 years-old. I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA, and have been living in the Boise, ID area since 1989. I've been married to my wonderful bride Kristi for 23 years, father thanks to a miracle adoption to a now 3-year-old son.
I made my living for nearly 3 decades as a professional comedian/magician/ventriloquist. I also lectured for magic clubs and conventions and I've authored over 3 dozen instructional books and booklets for professional magicians and serious magic hobbyists. I still perform some shows on the side.
Since mid-2010 I have been the full-time pastor of Christian Life Fellowship, a wonderful little church in Boise, Idaho. In October of 2014 I completed both my Master of Ministry and Doctorate of Divinity degrees. I've also lost about 45 pounds over the past six months, so this has been a big year for me!
So there you go--probably way more than you wanted or needed to know about me. I look forward to learning lots and getting to know some of you!
