wireless networking with ubuntu 6.06 amd64 version


I am trying to connect to my wireless network in ubuntu 6.06, however my laptop has got an amd64 bit processor in it, i have tried configuring it thru the networking program that comes with ubuntu, with no sucess, and i have heard that you cant use ndiswrapper. any ideas please let me know

You need to determine what wireless card and wireless chipset the computer has. Otherwise, no one will be able to help you. The computer would be nice to know as well.
