wireless networking and Verizon interent in ubuntu and fdora 6

i have presently 2 laptops, both very powerful, on one i am running XP Home and Ubuntu 6.06, i can upgrade to 7.04 if needed. and on my other laptop om running Fedora Core 6, i want to get my Verizon internet Card to work on both, and wireless to work on the ubuntu machine, any suggestions? im lost and dont have piles of time as im in school, so PLEASE HELP i HATE XP Home, but its the only way i can get on the web!!! HELP!!!

Hi,
I am not sure if anyone can help as you don't have much information to go on and you are using an older version of ubuntu..
My suggestion would be to post some data..First run
a check such as lspci -v or /sbin/lspci -v either as user or sudo and post the network data..Then maybe ubuntu users can either suggest upgrading or a fix..Sorry i cannot help more..At least they would know the chipset used in the wifi card..
