when I insert an Actiontec 802CAT1 wireless card my computer freezes
Here is my problem:
I originally purchased a linkysis wireless internet card and tried installing it with ndiswrapper but I could never get it to work on SUSE 9.1 so what I did was return it and I got an ACTIONTEC HWC0115001 (802CAT1) wireless internet card after I found out that it was natively supported by linux.
I currently have an ethernet card that is my primary way of using the internet, I purchased the wireless card for occasional use only.
The problem that I am having is that whenever I insert the Actiontec card in the slot my computer freezes. I disconnected the LAN cable from my computer and tried inserting the card again but my computer froze again.
I know that the card is recognized correctly by SUSE linux 9.1 because the new hardware found window pops up and says: Actiontec 802CAT1
unfortunately I cant even move my mouse once I insert the card, what can I do so that my computer does not do this???
Also I would like to know if I have to be at a wireless internet hotspot to just configure my card or can I do it anywhere?
Please let me know,
