CX88 chipset TV Card freezes the computer completely

I have an Airlink+ TV Card with a Conexant chipset in it (cx88 driver) it works in windows without freezing but the picture quality is crap and I don't use windows But anyway, the card works in linux for about 5 minute before the entire computer freezes and I have to restart manually. I understand this is kind of an offbrand card but the drivers should work.... When I actually load the cx88 module dmesg shows me that the DevID and the VendID is 0000 I have the latest CX88 driver and if you need more info about my system just let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

lspci shows:
Code:
0000:00:0b.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Winfast TV2000 XP (rev 05)
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10
        Memory at e2000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable)
        Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

What kernel version are you using? Type uname -r to get the info.

Include

options cx88xx core_debug=1 i2c_scan=1 i2c_debug=1 audio_debug=1

in /etc/modules.conf for 2.4.x kernel or /etc/modprobe.conf for 2.6.x kernel. Then post whats in /var/log/messages. You will have use su or login as root to access /var/log/messages.

I know that Conexant are crap. That is why I suggest using video capture cards based on Philips chips (>=SAA713x).
