Unhappy wg511t in slackware 10

Hi all,

I have read thousands of posts all of which claim they have managed to get this card to work with the madwifi drivers, and I would LOVE to add my name to that list. However am having a problem at the minute.

After I run through all the instructions the card is up and running however it seems to channel hop and so I can't get it to do anything at all. If I am lucky it will ping for a few seconds before skipping to a different frequency.

I have tried setting the channel from the command line, but it takes no notice.
I am running slack 10 with the 2.6.7 kernel and the latest CVS of madwifi.

Anyone have any ideas as I am going mad!

Dave

PS In suse 9.1 and windows xp the card works perfectly and I have tried an identical card which had the same problems. I also get the same problem using ndiswrapper.

Actually, a side question for you, when you use this card in windows, do you use the netgear software to manage what network you connect to etc, or do you just use the built in windows program to do this?

I have this card for my laptop, (but only run linux on my desktop as of now) so I never have tried to use this in linux, sorry.

I use the netgear software, its easy to use and never had a problem with it. I'm sure I can get it to work but I am obviously missing something blatent.

Cheers,

Dave
