Unable to get Madwifi on RH9 with Netgear WG511T

I am unable to get my Netgear WG511T work with RH9. I am using
Linux kernel version 2.4.22

When the card is inserted the laptop freezes. On removing the card I get the following error:
"cs: socket cfea4000 timed out during reset. Try increasing setup_delay."

I'd appreciate if I can get any pointers to resolving this issue.
