Senao 3054 Mini PCI Network Card Not Loading

Hi Guys

I've just bought a Soekris net4826 board and a Senao 3054MP+ mini pci network card and Im having trouble getting the computer to detect the card under the Metrix Pebble Distro.

It runs kernel 2.4 and has hotplug installed.

I put the firmware in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmwares/ but to no avail all I get is...

eth0: uploading firmware...
prism54: request_firmware() failed for 'isl3890'
eth0: could not upload firmware ('isl3890')
eth0: islpci_reset: failure

whenever I try to modprobe prism54.

I have used load of different firmware versions but it makes no difference..

The weird thing is on the card the chip reads, ISL3880IK but its asking for the isl3890 firmware I dont know if that makes a difference but I'm guessing it does.

I can install the ath_pci madwifi driver and prism54 but it always returns the above message.

Without Prism54 installed the network card isn't detected but with it installed I get...

eth0 NOT READY! ESSIDff/any
Mode:Managed Channel:0 Access Point: 00:00:00:00:00:00
Tx-Power=31 dBm Sensitivity=0/200
Retry min limit:0 RTS thr=0 B Fragment thr=0 B
Encryption keyff
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

I've searched the web for the last 8 hours and can't find any help for this card..
Any ideas appreciated.

Cheers
Tom

check out the list here. youll notice that your card is listed (#3) and supported with ndiswrapper. read the information there.

then read this link about installing/configuring ndiswrapper (if you havent already)

dont have room on the compact flash to install kernel sources and ndiswrapper. I know the chip is supported using the prism54 fullmac driver but for some reason it appears to not be seeing the firmware to upload

Cheers
