Orinoco Gold PC Card for Slackware 10.1 using 2.4.29


Greetings everyone in Linux land. I have some questions. Hopefully someone can help. I am trying to get my Orinoco Gold PC Card to work on Slackware 10.1 using kernel 2.4.29. Here are some things for everyone.

Have you tried "iwconfig wlan0"? Interfaces seem to be different per driver.

I'll check that out and get back to you. Also when I boot the computer my card makes 2 different beeps. Which I understand it is suppose to. Also the lights never come on.

Just checked out iwconfing wlan0
and I got
no such device wlan0

Any other suggestions?

If the lights aren't on it doesn't work. It doesn't look like it's being recognized and loaded properly but what to do about it I don't know.

Try:
modprobe orinoco_cs
ifconfig eth0 up

Then run iwconfig to see if the card is "there."

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

Nope..Also I think that my wireless card should be eth1 b/c my ethernet card is eth0
