Orinoco Gold a/b/g card

i recently bought a new orinoco gold a/b/g 8480-FC card. I been reading online about getting orinoco cards to work, but i don't know how to go about configuring/installing this wireless card. First off, how do i find the chipset of this card, and second what drivers do i need? I believe this is a supported card, but i don't know if the drivers are built in the kernel or i need to find some third party drivers? If anyone has this card and got it working please point me to in the right directions, because it seems like i'm just going in circle about get this wireless card working.

thanks,

The card uses the Atheros chipset which requires the MadWiFi driver.

The driver home page: http://madwifi.sourceforge.net/

The excellent wiki: http://madwifi.sourceforge.net/dokuwiki/doku.php

You sig says that you're on Slack 9.1. If that's accurate, the driver is not installed and you'll need to install it.

thanks for the reply, right now i'm using slackware 10.1 with the 2.6.11.10 kernel.

i did a cvs co and got the lasted source from teh website you gave me and compiled the source into a module and it work perfectly. Switching to a/b/g is very easy and picking access points out is much easier and faster with this orinoco gold card. Thanks alot.
