Netgear WGB111 USB Wireless adapter & fedora 2

Sorry if this is a similiar question to others, but i can't seem to find an answer...at least one that i understand.

Ok, i have a netgear wireless usb adapter, model WG111. This is a 54 Mbps model (802.11g). I actually have 2 questions regarding this. Please excuse my dumbness...I'm still pretty new at Linux.

1. Do I need to mount the usb adapter? If so, how do I do that? I've tried "mount /mnt/usbcard" and get the message "can't find /mnt/usbcard in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab".

2. What do I need to make the adapter work? I've looked at some of the other threads, but am still confused as to what the best option is.

Thanks in advance for the help. I really do appreciate it.

First of all you don't actually mount wireless devices. These are configured using the regular network tool "ifconfig" and the wireless tool "iwconfig"

However, a wireless card isn't going to work unless you have drivers for it. Chances are good that you don't, and for that matter I have yet to find a real driver for the WG111. See this post: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ighlight=wg111

Unfortunately, this card just doesn't look to be well-supported in linux yet. I reccomend getting a card with a prism2 or prism54 chipset, these usually work very well...and both have drivers in the kernel.
