ndiswrapper issue: Can see the AP, but can't log on.

Hey, I've been at this for a couple of days, and am hoping some one else may have some info. I haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem exactly, which makes me think I'm missing something obvious.

I'm running a laptop (Dell Inspiron 2200, Dell 1370 Wireless card) with FC4. I've got ndiswrapper installed, and it appears to be working (here is the output of "wiconfing wlan0")

wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"HawkesWIFI" Nickname:"localhost.localdomain"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.437 GHz Access Point: 00:11:95:6B:FE:F2
Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power:25 dBm
RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr=2346 B
Encryption key:xxxx-xxxx-xx Security modepen
Power Managementff
Link Quality:100/100 Signal level:-28 dBm Noise level:-256 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

So there is a AP recognition (the number is coming up, it's not just 0's).

However, if I "ifup wlan0" I get a "Determining IP information for wlan0... failed." Until an hour or so ago, I was getting a failed to make connection, unplugged cable error or something.. This is what I'm getting now though.

So it looks like a DHCP connection problem, BUT, I'm able to logon to the same router on the same computer with my good ole' ethernet card. So DHCP is working in that case.. I've tried making it WEP and no WEP, made no dif... SO.. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
Mark

dhclient wlan0 does nothing. No errors, but doesn't create a connection or obtain an IP. Nor does ifconfig wlan0 up...

I could try getting DHCPCD I suppose, but eth0 works with DHCP on the same router...

????
