Mandrake10 VS Wireless NIC

OK I give... My POS Buffalo wireless adaptor is not working at all. I'm sure its the chipset needs to be masagged more than I'm willing.

So my question is:

Which Wireless card/chip set plays nice with Mandrake and RH?

Linksys? Dlink???

you can either compile the driver or use it with ndiswrapper (i'm using ndis v 0.10). works well and no pain involved (it's a matter of editing .INF file to match the cards pci/ven ID ) there's a thread on how to get this to work with ndiswrapper. + the price on this card is pretty good, however the pic is misleading, cuz it doesn't have this plastic antena heh (maybe there's addon like that from mnfc). the card comes with littlee antena with the base attached connected to the card thru 5 feet cable. but if's you're ok with the look this card is for u.

here's how it looks

PIC

THREAD - NDISWRAPPER

THREAD - NDISWRAPPER & COMPILED DRIVER

i tried both ways but couldn't get the compiled driver to work (the guy in the thread did), but i'm happy with ndiswrapper so far + it's pretty straight forward.

i use a prism2 chipset on mine, works fine, but check the wiki for the install instructions, just a simple change to /etc/pcmcia/config is all that is needed

linksys should not be a major hassle, my buddie has one, i'll see how bad it is to get working, but it's cisco, should not be too bad, i hope
