I set eth0 onboot=no and it works now, but I am trying to find a nice way to switch back and forth.
This is the way I am doing it now...let me know if you have a better way.
1. Set eth0 (wired) to NOT start on boot.
2. Set eth1 (wireless) to start on boot.
- Now I am using the wireless connection.
3. Switch to eth0 (wired), if I want to...by:
-Turning off eth1. /sbin/ifdown eth1
-Turning on eth0. /sbin/ifup eth0
-Did this(a) so I don't have to type all that crap every time:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a. vi /sbin/goeth0
insert the above down and up commands and save
- "i" to insert, type the commands, typa a " : " (appears at the bottom of the screen)
--then type "wq" to wite and quit(no quotes, just wq) and hit enter.
chmod u+x /sbin/goeth0 (so root can exec it)
then just do: #/sbin/./goeth0 and the wired network is ready and able
-----------------------------------------------------------end a
4. If I want to go back I just do this:
-#/sbin/service network restart
and the wireless is fired up and able and the wired(eth0) is off.
nice talkin' to ya
