D-Link DWL-G510 installation problem in Slackware 11

Hello all, my first post here.
I am trying to use the DWL-G510 in my Linuxbox. I have installed the driver from the disk via ndiswrapper. Using iwlist wlan0 scan, it detects my network, reporting the ESSID, frequency, quality and so on, but I'm not sure where to go from there.

I cannot get an IP from my router using dhcpcd wlan0. The card seems to be working and detected, but everything I've read on the net and doing searches here basically leaves me at this point. Using the KWIFIManager in KDE shows the network is detected, but correctly reports no access point, local address unavailable, frequency and encryption status.

I feel like I'm just missing some little newbie step, but can't seem to find where I'm going wrong. I've done lots of searching this afternoon both here and via google, but can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same card in one of my machines, and rather than bothering with ndiswrapper I used MadWifi drivers. Granted I don't use WEP or WPA, and I can't comment on its support for those, but you may take a look @ http://www.madwifi.org

Compatibility info here:

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't had time to get back here yet to say so, but I got the card working with MadWiFi under wep last night. Seems to be working quite well, but I still have to get it set up to automatically connect, etc, when I boot up.
