NDISWrapper with D-Link DWL-G510

I am about to go nuts with this thing :P Sorry, there are some other posts re: this card, but nobody else seems to have my problem.

I am attempting to use this card with the 2.11 drivers downloaded from the D-Link website which the NDISWrapper site says are known good. However, whenever modprobe tries to load the driver (or the Network Setup tool does the same) my system completely freezes.

I am using FC4 and the livna.org RPM install of ndiswrapper 1.2.

Actually, lots of people have had your problem. The main reason is that Fedora is simply not an ndiswrapper freindly distro and the freeze could have a number of causes, but is frequently related to the stock kernels that come with Fedora. About the best I can suggest is to switch to the NTFS kernel as those kernels are compiled in a way that is much easier for ndiswrapper to use.
