I have Toshiba M500 Laptop and I'm using CentOS 5.5, I'm having problem with my wifi. Its not detecting my college wifi network, I have "Intel Wifi Link 5100 agn".
(It's my first time here, hope I'll get some good help) thanks in advance.
sorry for being late, actually I was busy doing my project. thanks for the help lamegaptop and I will ask further queries if have some problems regarding this.
As you said my wifi network is detected it also gets connected(thanks to you) but the problem is that I can't open my login page to connect(It's my college wifi network), I also filled my ip address, dns and other required info but still not opening my login page.
Can you help me out on this? Let me tell you here that I can access internet from windows so there is no problem from server side.
I would expect the wifi at your college to be set for DHCP, not Static IP. This means that you should not set an IP address or DNS but simply set the wifi connection for DHCP. If you look at the settings in windoze you will probably see the wifi set for "obtain address automatically" or some such setting.
Unfortunately it is set to static ip and after entering setting up ip, DNS and subnet mask we go to a login page where we login with our respective accounts and then we get to access internet. I never had any problem in Ubuntu but its not working in here and I don't know why?
