cant setup wireless network:'(

whoops sorry i accidentally put my wireless thread in Network instead of here...well heres my problem

I recently installed FC4 on my laptop and I am having problems setting up the network...

Wireless driver is found but i cannot connect to the router...I create a new wireless device and set up the SSID, password and so on..what might be the problem?

also when i try to activate the wireless device it says...

Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate" (8B20) : SET failed on device eth0 ; Operation not supported

Determining IP information for eth0... failed; no link present. Check cable?

Thats it...it says eth0, last time i was using suse it use to be wlan...anyways, it does say that its a wireless device so it migth be alright
can anyone help me out please :'(

Are you certain your OS notices your wireless card? Usually eth0 is reserved for an ethernet port, and based on the following:
Code:
Determining IP information for eth0... failed; no link present. Check cable?
I would say that it was looking at your ethernet port and failed when it did not discover an ethernet cable connected to it.
as root, type "ifconfig" in a terminal and post what it shows you.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
