Ok, I have a SMC2662w and I have just isntall the at76c503-rfmd modules for them and my network card is being detected if i run ismod(think thast the command) anyhow the nic is there, but I'm not to sure what to do from here...

I frist tried
iwconfig wlan0 made ad-hoc channel 11 essid smc
ifconfig wlan0 192.168.1.100

and then after i ran iwconfig and ifocnfig i was seeing its stats, and lo stats as well.... ok I try to add a gateway to the router like this route -add gw 192.168.1.1 but it told me it couldn't connect or it was unaviable

I have a WEP network key, which I think i add the right way (iwconfig -key xxxxxxxxxx) but that didn't seem to do anything either

anyhow I've done all this and it seems like i'm close but I still can't open up any websites or anything. and I doing somthing wrong.. or leaving somthing out.. any help would be much appercaited

BY the way, i'm using slackware 9.1 kernel 2.4
