Question Belkin f5d6020 rev.2 not recognized

hello,
i just bought a belkin f5d6020v.2 for my old laptop ibm tp390. Went to Craig's howto page at http://www.houseofcraig.net/belkin_howto.php and followed the instructions there but card is not recognized by Mandrake 9.1 I am using the driver Craig recommends from the distro pcmf502_revd. At first I found it gzipped only in the atmelwlan directory. I assume the unzipped file must be moved to /lib/modules.../net/pcmcia directory which i did. I followed the config directions and also found a atmel.conf file which i changed to using revd driver. But as u will see below i still get no readings from the iwconfig command. and when i try to add a setting w/iwconfig it says no recognized card in slot. I would really appreciate some help as I am newbie 2 linux and this is the 2nd wireless card(1st was an smc 2532w) that i've tried 2 get working with no success. Any additional output u need please just let me know. here is the output :
[root@Thinkpad eroica]# depmod -a
[root@Thinkpad eroica]# iwconfig
