Aireplay - "Can't find wireless tools, exiting"

I'm trying to run aireplay on FC5 to do some testing of my network and seeing how (in)secure it is.

Running Fedora core 5 with a Cisco Aironet Card. The card runs airsnort no problem, same with Kismet, and Ethereal. Been having no problem surfing or getting network traffic; however, I Want to experiment with Aireplay.

I've tried using it several times but every time I do I get the following error:
"Can't find wireless tools, exiting"

Any advice, help, suggestions?

RE: can't find wireless tools

Hi,

In case you didn't find the answer...

The aircrack-ng tools need the "iwpriv" command to manage the wireless card. If you don't already have it installed you need the wireless-tools package (yum install wireless-tools should do it).

However the default install often doesn't have iwpriv in the path, and this can cause the "can't find wireless tools" error. To fix it you need iwpriv in the path of the user running the aircrack tools.
