Problem mounting ext3 VMDK images on Windows

Hi,

HOST: WinXP pro
Virtualization: VMWare workstation (ubuntu) for source build

I have one dedicated vmware partition for source build. I have a slow system so I want to mount the vmware build partition from windows so that code walkthrough and study stuff can be done from windows using source insight and other similar tools without vmware.

I attempted to install the EXT2IFS driver on windows and mount the vmdk as a virtual drive using

vmware-mount.exe z: "D:/my_vmw_img/source.vmdk"

but it dosent seem to work. Windows wont recognize the filesystem on Z partition.

Has anyone tried to do this, please let me know.

I am beginning to believe that it is not possible for EXT filesystem on windows.
