raise funds for LUG

hi there

i intend to raise funds for my lug
till now i have been using the money from my pocket to distribute those linux Cds and other material
now as we go on bigger ,some funding is required to spread more awareness

one option can be registration from members,
since our group is for the students of the university,so i do not intend to go that way

i have put up some google ads at my LUG website, but that will take a long time to genrate funds

as far as sponsors are concerned, well there is not much linux awaress in my city , but still i will lookout for some sponsors for some events

what else can be done

please suggest

regards

You have mentioned that a very small amount of money is generated by google ads.

Well, you could have bigger companies like naukri.com or jobsahead.com on your website who are doing a lot of e-advertising for getting graduates and post graduates to post resumes on their website.

That's one possible way I can think of....

Secondly, I can just click the google ads everyday...atleast something will be there....

;-)

What else can I do ?

i cannot ask anyone to click on that ads, that is against the rules of adsense anmd they do take in multiupe clicks

i think i will be writing to some companies to provide some resources
i do not wish to ask for any money but resoures such as CDs/books etc for the groups

Oh ok.... but how do they catch mutliple clicks... ?? IP address...???

If yes, then I have Dynamic IP's so no need to worry...

If I can generate alteast a dollar a day I wudn't mind clicking.....

I have got some reference manuals of RH9 which I think is also with you, besides this I dont have much books...much of what I read from, is the WORLD WIDE WEB....

and thanks! for the prompt reply

if i talk to you like this on this, then it will seem as if i am asking u to generate clicks and google will disqualify me

and talking about catching multiple clicks wel they have a lot of mechanisms

even if u have dynamic IP address u can get that from a pool of IP addresses, which is very easy to find

so pl. do not go for multiple clicks they will disqualify me

i think i will contact the Linux distros and training offices here in India

regards
