yeah...

i believe that yahoo changes it's protocols....from time to time( I don't know why is this!)

so....after a new protocol is launched...it has to be downloaded by us.....otherwise the yahoo messenger service is rendered useless!

this is what happens with most of the users using the yahoo messenger....
(happened with me as well)

msn is a good boy and doesn't change....protocols......so there isn't any problem with the msn messenger!

Which Link?

>>Old version runs when I click on Kopete

Does this mean that even after installing a newer version of Kopete, the old version runs ?

If Yast couldn't install it properly, you could do a manual install of the file.

Use the cd command to change to the directory, where the rpm file is located.

Be root.
Code:
$su -
Password:
#cd <directory where the kopete RPM is located>
#rpm -U kopete-0.9.2-1.guru.suse91.kde32.i686.rpm
This should upgrade your current version of Kopete, and you should be able to get the new version up and running.

Post back witht the results.

or in Yast search for kopete and remove the old one there.

In your start menu, go to system, then click on Yast.

Then it will ask you for the root password, type that.

Then under the software section, get to managing software or something like that (Add and Remove Software)

Search Kopete in that one.

You will see that it is installed. There must be an option to Uninstall it.
Do the needful.
