Yahoo not workin
 

hey guys....
i am totally new to this Linux.....

i have Suse 9.1 installed on my machine....

and i am currently using kopete as the messenger service
but my problem is that yahoo does not connect with this.
while msn works fine....

then i tried installin gaim but came out with the same problem.

i asked a frnd of mine.(an expert)

so made me understand that yahoo changes it's protocols from time to time...
so that is the reason that yahoo can't connect

he told me to upgrade my gaim....but when i tried to upgrade....
i did not found any rpm for suse....
can anybody gimme the link for the download......
of the latest version of gaim...for suse 9.1??

Yahoo works on my system

but i really don't know what is the problem with mine....
cuz both kopete and gaim refuse to connect....

i tried upgradin gaim....but i did not find any rpm for suse....at the upgrade site.

yes i can login at yahoo.com using the browsers...

i will have to check my version of kopete for that purpose.....

can u give me the link for downloadin the software...
i mean can i download the version of kopete u have?

and again i hope that u r using suse 9.1

If it's still broken after you reinstall I would try changing your password.
It may be that you are having trouble with certain abnormal characters in your password.

i downloaded the kopete from the link given....
and now it works fine......
yahoo has connected on my suse for the first time since installing it

there wasn't any need to change the password as such!
i am grateful to both of u....

i am trying my level best to connect to yahoo thru GAIM 1.0 and kepote 0.9

os: Fedora core 2 (AMD athlon 64)

but i am geeting error.
please help me to solve this issue

If i use softengineer@yahoo.co.in ..it shows nothing if i use softengineerr...its says password worng.

as said earlier ur password may be having some unusual characters which ur messenger is unable to accept .....

why don't u try changing ur password!
