Yahoo messenger installation problems
I am trying to install Yahoo messenger on a 64 bit Fedora Core 3 linux installation. I have an AMD 64 processor. I read elsewhere that the version that Yahoo has for RedHat distributions should work. I was unable to install the software though as it gives me error messages saying it cant find some dependencies. This was the message I got:
Failed dependencies:
libdb.so.3 is needed by ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386
libgdk-1.2.so.0 is needed by ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386
libgdk_pixbuf.so.2 is needed by ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386
libglib-1.2.so.0 is needed by ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386
libgmodule-1.2.so.0 is needed by ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386
libgtk-1.2.so.0 is needed by ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386
I followed some other suggestion to install the rpm with --nodeps option. Now, when I run the ymessenger executable, it gives me this error message:
/opt/ymessenger/bin/ymessenger.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libgtk-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I am at my wits end. Can someome help me? I dont want to use gaims because I need some additional functionalities that Yahoo has...
Thanks a lot.
