I know that it's possible to go from MPEG-2 to XViD, but does anyone know how to go the other way? I ask, because I have some videos that are encoded with XViD, but I would like to burn them onto DVD's so I can watch them on TV using a standard DVD player.
Would Transcode be the tool to use for this? And does it include an MPEG-2 encoder? It lists an mpeg2 decoder, but I havn't come across an mpeg2 encoder....
I tried out konverter, but it only lets me use divx or mpeg-1 for my output format, mpeg-2 isn't on the list. Does anyone know where to find an mpeg-2 codec? I know I have a decoder for mpeg-2, but I don't know if I actually have anything for encoding that format....
Well, I somehow converted my 3 video files to mpeg2 (I ended up using some shareware program on Windows, took around 15-16 hours to do 3.5 hours of video). I need to figure out how I can burn the videos (3 clips) onto 1 DVD now, though. I only have a DVD burner in my XP-only machine, and none of the programs there like to burn as much video as I have, even though the file size of the 3 .mpeg files is somewhere around 3.7GB....
