xine stutters terribly related to video?

I have an ati radeon IGP 320m card in my laptop, could that be why xine is terribly skippy with video and sound?

Took forever to get it working any help appreciated

dvd?
probably dma isn't enabled for the dvd drive
you can look at the current settings for a drive with.
hdparm /dev/hdc
or hdd. it just depends.

if /dev/hdc
hdparm -d1 /dev/hdc

I apreciate the assistance, after stumbling around with different settings i realized SuSE had setup my internal dvd player to non dma like you stated. Got is setup and now i can play my dvd's fine no skips at all.

Great for those Futurama and Family Guy boxed sets i picked up yesterday : D
