Xine sound but no video

Hello,

I run Mandrake 10 on an emachines M5116 laptop. I have Xine and MPlayer both installed and they were working fine. Now, all of a sudden, when trying to play DVDs I get sound but no picture in Xine, and nothing at all from MPlayer. However, if is start MPlayer, try to play DVD and then quit MPlayer (the MPlayer window stays frozen on screen though) and then open Xine I can get both sound and picture!

How can I put this right?

Uninstall mPlayer. It doesn't seem to work right anyway, if it stays frozen on screen, and see if Xine then works correctly. Funny, I usually had problems with Xine and not mPlayer, but every system is different.

You can always reinstall mPlayer if you want.

Hello,

I tried removing MPlayer - no effect. Xine still would not work so instaled MPlayer again - same problem cropping up.
