XFree86

Hi,
I am having a lot of trouble installing linux on my laptop. I am using vmware and windows 2000 as the host operating system and red Hat 7.1 as the guest OS on an IBM think pad, A20m.

Everything seems to install all right, until I try and start the Xsever. I have got a .xinitrc script in my home directory that is supposed to start upn fvwm2.

The error that comes up is a "fatal IO error 104".

I read a page that said that everything seems to work fine on this laptop and I did all the suggested things from the website
http://dag.wieers.com/howto/thinkpad/a20m/
but still to no avail.

The Video Card that have onboard is a
ATI Technologies Inc. RAGE P/M Mobility AGP 2X

If anyone could offer some assistance than that would be great. I am not sure whether it is the driver that I have installed or whether it could be a vmware problem.
Thanks
Ben
