.X0-lock problems

Hi everyone. I have chased this up on the web, but only found others with the same problem, unfortunately no resolutions

I boot my pc, and then it seems to hang as the GUI is initializing. So I Ctrl+alt+F5 to get into CLI mode. I run startx, but I am told to remove /tmp/.X0-lock and try again.

So I rm /tmp/.X0-lock then run starx and everything works. When you reboot/shutdown the OS should it not do this job automatically Every time I want to use my new (and very cool) SUSE I got to go through this process.

P.S it was not always like this, been working fine since I installed it, more than a month ago.

Any help much appreciated.
