X Error when trying nvidia-settings

So I installed Ubuntu 7.04 yesterday, and installed the nvidia drivers, then I try to do nvidia-settings, and get this message:

X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169
Major opcode: 147
Minor opcode: 3
Resource id: 0x0
Failed to open device
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169
Major opcode: 147
Minor opcode: 3
Resource id: 0x0
Failed to open device

I don't know what this means (this is my first time installing linux), or have the slightest clue how to fix it. Anything you'd be able to tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

These messages are harmless. To supress them, try commenting out all the lines defining input devices in the ServerLayout section of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, except those matching existing ones (at least a keyboard and a mouse).

Eg:
Code:
# InputDevice "cursor" "SendCoreEvents"
If you are unsure, post your xorg.conf file (use the code tags for readability).
