nvidia settings

Every time I run my window manager, xfce, I have to run nvidia-settings manually in order for my brightness/contrast/gamma settings to take effect. Is there a way to make my brightness/contrast/gamma settings automatically take effect every time I start up xfce? Note, I don't simply want the nvidia-settings program to run on start up, because it would be annoying having to close the nvidia-settings dialog afterwards.

Hi, I don't know how you start xfce but you can use the "-l" switch with the nvidia settings
command to load the previous configuration settings.
Code:
nvidia-settings -l
You can place this command in your .xinitrc file.

Thanks. The way I did it was to create a bash script file in my ~/Desktop/Autostart directory (I also had to create those directories), and in the script file I just add the line you suggested:

Code:
nvidia-settings -l
On startup, XFCE will run any scripts that are in the ~/Desktop/Autostart directory.
