Winzip like software


Hi,
Do anyone of you know about winzip like software for Linux. If know please inform me. Thanks.

karchive, gnozip, and basically tar, unzip

If you can live with commandline try aunpack.Works with everything you got on your box zip,rar,tar.....

What do you mean? All I do is click a zip/tar/gz file and it'll uncompress per se. Modern distros have support for this. Just like you do in XP.

You type in a terminal: aunpack (options) /file and it goes ahead and uncompesses whatever is in there.I did run into a lot of trouble with ark,karchive and all the other gui-apps i know with easy things like a passwordprotected file.Didn't work.aunpack automatically determines the filetype (zip,rar,whatever) and unpacks it if you got it.If you need to uncompress an .ace-file you got to have linunace installed first.Same for other filetypes like zip and rar.
