If you can live with commandline try aunpack.Works with everything you got on your box zip,rar,tar.....
What do you mean? All I do is click a zip/tar/gz file and it'll uncompress per se. Modern distros have support for this. Just like you do in XP.
You type in a terminal: aunpack (options) /file and it goes ahead and uncompesses whatever is in there.I did run into a lot of trouble with ark, karchive and all the other gui-apps i know with easy things like a passwordprotected file.Didn't work.aunpack automatically determines the filetype (zip, rar, whatever) and unpacks it if you got it.If you need to uncompress an .ace-file you got to have linunace installed first.Same for other filetypes like zip and rar.
