Wine Question

I did what I thought was a complete install of wine. ./configure,make install, make, but when i was reading someone's instructions on where to put the .dll files it said to put them in a directory that does not exist. /var/lib/wine/windows/.... Could someone help?

mkdir /var/lib/wine/windows/ then just mv path/to/file/then/file-name /var/lib/wine/windows/
