Hi there --
One of our servers is running Samba 3.0.33-3.29.el5_5.1 on a CentOS 5.3 32-bit distribution. The server has several shares that are accessible via a known user account.
A workstation running Windows 7 has been unable to access one of the shares of the server. When prompted for the username and password, the appropriate information is entered, but the share is never successfully mounted on the Windows system. The share in question has been mounted on several other clients that are running the Windows XP operating system.
I have confirmed the firewall for the Windows 7 computer has been turned off. I have also gone into the secpol.msc utility of the Windows 7 system, and changed
Code:
Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level
to read:
Code:
LM and NTLM – use NTLMV2 session security if negotiated
Neither step solved the problem. Is there any additional step(s) that I need to take to resolve this issue?
Thanks.
