Where does Firefox go?

Hello (again).

This time I've downloaded Firefox, and installed it. But where do I find it when I want to use it? All I can find in the applications is Mozilla.

If you think this is a stupid question, wait Till I've started. This is my second day of Linux Debian, and I'm feeling kind of new...

On Debian it's in shortcuts, like in XPee.
Applications (Menu=Start)=>Internet=>Mozilla Firefox

Have you done logout after install? usually on Debian it's not required unless changes are made on kernel but try logout and login and look again in the shortcuts.

BTW, My Debian came with Firefox and I installed Debian not from DVD but network install. So if my minimum Debian has already Firefox why doesn't yours??

If you are using KDE, you could try update-menus as root.
If that doesn't put a link to firefox on your menus then you'll have to find firefox yourself:

locate firefox

You will get a lot of "firefox" things, you need to find the one that is the executable. On one PC mine is at /opt/firefox/firefox, on the other it is at /usr/bin/mozilla-firefox . Then you can either type /opt/firefox/firefox or /usr/bin/mozilla-firefox in a terminal and it should start.

Once that works you can make a link to it from your deskeop: In KDE right-click the desktop, select "Create New..." "link to application" then fill in the path to your firefox application.
Hope this helps.

you could also do something like this:

right click on your desktop and go New-> Link to Application (kde) or create launcer (gnome)

then type Firefox in the Name: box, in the application/program box, click browse, and go to the directory that firefox is in (e.g. /directory/firefox-installer) then click firefox (this is the actual app) if you want an icon, click the box where it says No Icon, then browse, thenm go into the firefox-installer directory again, go to the icons folder and select mozicon50.xpm

simple as.....!!!!!
