what is kernel-pcmcia, how is it different from hugemem


What is kernel-pcmcia*.rpm ?, how is it different from hugemem kernel or smp kernel ?

It would help to know what distribution you are using, as that naming will be one created by a distribution, not a standard kernel.

If you're referring to the old Redhat naming, the pcmcia kernel has support for PCMCIA cards, the hugemem kernel has support for large memory environments, and the smp kernel has support for symetrical multiprocessor systems (more than one CPU).
