What exactly is Firefox with Gnome Support?

I know that the ordinary FF works fine without this, but are there any real advantages to FF w/ Gnome support? Package firefox-gnome-support-dbg says:
Quote:
This is an extension to Firefox that allows it to use protocol handlers from GnomeVFS, such as smb or sftp, and other GNOME integration features.
What does it mean, what use might I have for it?

I think it's an extension that lets you browse smb and sftp servers from Firefox itself. Although ftp is already supported, if that's what you're looking for.

It helps to make Firefox more compatible with the GNOME desktop environment, from what I know. Without it, you probably couldn't run Firefox on GNOME (or GNOME 3.0, for that matter).

Hi,

Does that mean I'll have to remove my Firefox that's working great on Gnome?

Kind regards,

Eric

Yeah, Chrome (OS) is definitely better than Firefox for me. I personally don't like FF's bloat.

Hi,

Do you mind providing some clarification to that? Comparing Chrome OS with Firefox browser? That's like comparing apples and bananas. Not making any sense. Or did I miss the news on Firefox OS?

Kind regards,

Eric

Eric,

You definitely need to try it out man. All my sed problems went away; I just shouted at the computer what I wanted, and it performed the commands I said out loud. The cookies stored inside the temp. directory turned to actual cookies, and if you drink too much, it shuts itself off. Gets my vote!

Hi Josh,

You know you're hurting me right? At least provide a download link to this fine piece of software. Share with the community dude, don't be selfish

Kind regards,

Eric

Eric,

I would, but I can't. Sorry for the inconvenience.
