As you've got a running copy, maybe you should concentrate on getting that one set-up first. Give me a shout if you need any more help.

Assuming you've got basic knowledge of the shell, copy the downloaded file to your home folder and then use the instructions I gave earlier. Failing that, if you have an IM account, PM me and I'll get back same time (ish) tomorrow.

Don't try and rush. You will only get frustrated.

My heads spinning...........

Ok I have a running copy I need help to configure it i.e best settings for download upload speeds best servers i.p. addresses, gui & core tweeks and how to place a short cut on desktop to save running cmd each time and how to : if using a router, create a DMZ to include that port. As mentioned earlier, The firewall is allowing access to port 4662 checked this in connections

I know your and others are just itching to help a fellow user even if I'm thick to all this.

Ok, you want two things: A desktop shortcut and instructions re. your router.

So, two questions:

How do you access your router settings, is it via the web browser (usually address 10.0.0.2), or another way, and do you have static ip addressing or DHCP. It will be easier if you have static addressing. This also makes it easier to network to Windows etc.

Do you have a menu item (in internet>amule)?

How do you access your router settings? You need to open the correct port on the virtual server or DMZ settings area. Is something similar listed?
