I am struggling to work out why when I try to ftp files to my debian server (running turnkey LAMP 12.1) I am getting a permission denied error (550 permission denied).
selinux is turned off, have checked this with sestatus and the file /etc/sysconfig/selinux doesnt exist.
I have the following settings in vsftp.conf:
Quote:
listen=YES
anonymous_enable=NO
write_enable=YES
dirmessage_enable=YES
use_localtime=YES
xferlog_enable=YES
connect_from_port_20=YES
data_connection_timeout=120
ftpd_banner=Welcome to SAMS FTP service.
chroot_local_user=YES
chroot_list_enable=NO
chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd.chroot_list
secure_chroot_dir=/var/run/vsftpd/empty
pam_service_name=vsftpd
rsa_cert_file=/etc/ssl/private/vsftpd.pem
log_ftp_protocol=YES

Am logging in with the cameraftp user, have given 777 permissions for testing and changed owner and group of the home folder to the user I am logging in with:
Quote:
cameraftp:x:1000:1001::/var/www/images/camera:/bin/sh
drwxrwxrwx 3 cameraftp cameraftp 4096 Jul 10 14:19 camera

Any ideas welcome.
Thanks
