vsftp question

I am running an apache web server with different directories for different sites. I would like to create ftp only users who can update their individual sites, without them having access to ANYTHING other than their directory. How can I create an FTP user that has access to nothing but a certain directory (no login, shell access or anything other than the directory)?

You have to look into something called chroot . It restricts users from getting out of there home directory. Do a google search for chrooting .

chroot

Hi,

If you add the line chroot_local_user=yes to vsftpd.conf, you should get the desired result.

Hope that helps.
