vnc + gnome + xnest + gdm

I have been searching all over google for the correct answer to this. I actually got pretty close. ( on my own )

I put 'gdmflexiserver --xnest' into ~/.vnc/xstartup and it actually started up gdm and I was able to login.. although the resolution was like 320x600 but other then that I GOT IT TO WORK so I figure if I take the xnest out it will work... but it doesn't I get an error saying: You do not seem to be logged in on the console

So now I'm confused. how can I get this to work? or even better how can I get VNC to grab the already current gnome session running on the box? That would be awesome!

(P.S. I have tried just puting gnome-session in there or gnome-session & and it doesn't work. it just says there is already a manager running or something like that)

It would be awesome if someone could help me!
