Question video mode GLX visual?


hi

i just installed the unreal tournament 2004 demo

when i run ut2004demo i get the following error:

---------------------------
Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual

History:

Exiting due to error
---------------------------

if somebody can explain this error that would be great

do you have glx loading upon bootup in /etc/X11/XF86Config?

does glxgears work?

yes i have this:

Section "Module"

# This loads the DBE extension module.

Load "dbe" # Double buffer extension

# This loads the miscellaneous extensions module, and disables
# initialisation of the XFree86-DGA extension within that module.
SubSection "extmod"
Option "omit xfree86-dga" # don't initialise the DGA extension
EndSubSection

# This loads the font modules
Load "type1"
Load "freetype"
Load "speedo"

# This loads the GLX module
Load "glx"

EndSection

and i dont know what glxgears is

glxgears is a program that displays 3 rotating gears in pure glx; if glxgears doesn't work, chances are most other 3d applications will not either

in a terminal (or console) while in a gui, type glxgears and hit enter
