Hello, everyone. I ran across
FAUmachine tonight and got to thinking about the whole virtualization thing; it wasn't long before I came around to my fascination with live CD distributions. I've downloaded dozens, and love playing with them-- the only trouble is that I worry about how the near-constant reboots might affect my elderly machine. Well, okay-- I'm actually lazy and hate rebooting.
Does anyone know if it's possible to boot and run a liveCD-based distribution from within a running HD-based distribution, without too much hassle? Would it even be worth the trouble on a 533Mhz/256MB RAM/Mandrake 9.2 box?
Any information, guidance, or (if necessary) dissuasion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.
