Using CVS for web site???

Hello,

I have a few PHP projects which I'm looking to move from RCS to CVS. I have a CVS server running, but I'm not too experienced with it.

The problem is that, obviously, I want to keep the .php files in their current directory on my web server after working on them. Is there any way to easily do this?

When I checkout a module, it (as it's supposed to) puts all of the source from CVS into the CWD.

Is there any way to edit the files in my web server *without* checking them out, then just push the finished files out to the correct module on the CVS server?

Thanks,
Jason
